How do I select the right element in the website builder when elements are nested or stacked?
A page is built from many nested layers, so the thing you click is sometimes not the element you want. For example you may click an image when you really want the box that holds it, and then dragging to resize does not do what you expect.
When you select something, the bar at the bottom of the builder shows what you selected. Go up one level at a time to pick the parent element you actually want, then resize or edit it.
You can also open the layer manager, which shows what is inside what. It is especially useful when elements are stacked, for example an image behind a gradient: without it you may click the element sitting on top. In the layer manager, select the exact layer you want, such as the image, and open its image settings to swap or adjust it.
If an item jumps into columns or moves to one side after a change, check the layout settings in the right panel of the builder. Items can be in flex mode or grid mode, which changes how they align and display, so check that the display setting (for example display flex) is what you expect. If it still misbehaves, contact support and they can look at it with you in the builder.
